How To Host And Configure A Minecraft Server With No-IP How to host and configure a Minecraft Server with No-IP. To get started you will need three things: Minecraft Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account You'll need a Minecraft account to connect to the server and to allow you to play. MINECRAFT PROFILES You can create an account on Minecraft here if you don't have one. Step One: You will first need to download the Minecraft Server software package hosted here and then launch the server. Step Two Step Two: Installing and configuring the Minecraft Server You will want to use the following link and follow the installation instructions for your particular operating system: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Setting_up_a_server Step Three: Once everything is in place then you can move on to the next step. Step Three Step Three: Port Forwarding If you need assistance with port forwarding, you can visit portforward.com. There you can enter the make and model number of your router and the device/application/software you wish to forward. The website will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to correctly portforward your router. After completing port forwarding, go to www.portchecktool.com to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you'll receive an "Success!" message. Further assistance with port forwarding can be found in our General Port Forwarding Guide. You'll need to make sure that we are redirecting your hostname to the correct external IP address. You can check your current IP address by, once again, visiting www.portchecktool.com from the network's location. Step Four: Next, you will need to create an approach to keep Your IP address current and not be a dynamic public (external) IP address. There are many ways to accomplish this. The first step is to download our Dynamic Update Client for free. The client should be running continuously at your network's location. It will monitor your IP address every five minutes and, should it find that it has changed, it will notify you of the change using No-IP. You can also check whether the devices on your network support No-IP for integrated DNS updates. Some devices that include No-IP for Dynamic DNS are Routers or Camera systems. This will remove the requirement to download the Dynamic Update Client. Step Five: Now you should be able to connect to your server. You can also invite your friends to connect. Simply provide them with the hostname and port number. For example, "hostname.domain.com:25565".
